Low-Carb Cocktails
By: Chris, WebAdmin.
During the holiday season, and all year round, whenever we go out to a party or meet friends for drinks many of us feel we have to miss out or blow our diets. Not so, according to Dr. Douglas J. Markham the author of Beyond Atkins and now Low-Carb Cocktails.
In his latest effort to help us control our diets, Markham offers not only a number of excellent recipes for beverages which will fit a low-carb regimen but much more. This handy little pocket sized book begins with the Principles of the Low-Carb Lifestyle and goes on to Understanding the Types of Alcohol, The Physical Effects and even The Responsible Use of Alcohol. This combined with Responsible Hosting and Bartending Tips, a section with information on Stocking your Low-Carb Cocktail Bar and even Low-Carb Cocktails Nutritional Facts make this a must have for every bar (even if you aren't on a low-carb diet).
Whether you are looking for a hot or cold alcoholic beverage or even a nonalcoholic drink, you will find a low-carb version of it here. With your drinks you can also enjoy the sections on Protein-rich Low-Carb Snacks, Snacks Requiring No Recipes, Dips and Dippers and even Hors d'Oeuvres. The ideas and suggestions make sense for everyone at your party, most won't even know they are low-carb.
Enjoy this recipes for a low-carb version of the holiday classic:

How to Benefit from the Mind-Body Connection
(excerpt)
You are about to gain insight into the
mind-body connection. The number of
people who truly understand these principles on our
planet are relatively few.
There is an undeniable connection between our minds and
bodies, you can learn to use this fact to your benefit.
Dr. Bernie Siegel, author of "Love, Medicine and
Miracles" was once a distraught cancer surgeon until he
began to understand the greater principles of the mind-
body connection. He felt dragged down by the artificial
barriers that existed between patient and doctor, and the
helplessness he often felt as a result of his inability
to effectively serve those patients. Eventually, those
barriers were disintegrated by Dr. Siegel's recognition
and growing understanding of the mind-body connection and
how it could serve his patients and himself.
Dr. Siegel, or Bernie as he began to have his patients
refer to him, had some
startling realizations as a cancer surgeon. He found that
there were actually
quite a few people in the world that successfully beat
the statistics on cancer
survival. He began to recognize that a patient's ability
to defeat something as
serious as cancer had to do with the patient's mind and
attitude about their
disease.
